Core Team Engineer

A high-growth, early-stage Digital Health & Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) startup engineering a modern, personalized healthcare platform tailored for the US market.

Operating in a high-velocity, zero-to-one startup environment with a tight-knit team of ~11 professionals, the company delivers scalable, patient-centric digital wellness solutions directly to consumers.

The company offers a foundational engineering opportunity to serve as the very first core backend developer, working side-by-side with the founders to establish the technical roadmap, core infrastructure, and product architecture.

Located in the Sharon region (Walking distance from the train station), operating on an on-site collaborative model.

Role Description-

• Serving as the First Core Backend Software Engineer (Founding Engineer / Core Team), taking end-to-end technical ownership over system architecture, backend development (90% Backend), and cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
• Working directly alongside the Founders to translate product vision and high-level roadmap into scalable, reliable, and enterprise-grade software services.
• Designing and building high-throughput Distributed Systems, Microservices, and Scalable APIs to power consumer-facing health applications.
• Setting up end-to-end observability, telemetry, and system reliability frameworks across Logging, Monitoring, Alerting, and Distributed Tracing (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry).
• Designing structured data schemas, relational/non-relational data models, and scalable data pipelines in modern Cloud environments (AWS / GCP).
• Leveraging cutting-edge AI-assisted developer tooling (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) as an integral part of everyday development workflows to accelerate delivery speed and code quality.

Requirements-

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering / Backend Development – Mandatory
• Proven "0-to-1" builder mentality: Fast execution, high independence, proactive ownership, and a strong product-oriented mindset – Mandatory
• Deep, hands-on proficiency in modern backend programming languages (Python, Node.js / TypeScript, or equivalent) – Mandatory
• Strong expertise in architecting Distributed Systems, Microservices, and Scalable REST / GraphQL APIs – Mandatory
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and cloud-native services – Mandatory
• Solid background in implementing production observability and telemetry stacks (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar) – Mandatory
• Strong data modeling skills, including experience with structured databases, data pipelines, and transactional data integrity – Mandatory
• Active, everyday use of modern AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) – Mandatory
• Full-stack orientation or familiarity with modern frontend web frameworks – Advantage
• Background in B2C / DTC platforms, E-Commerce, Digital Health / HealthTech, or US-facing SaaS products – Significant Advantage
