Controller – 9-Month Maternity Leave Cover

Upstream delivers a cloud-based, AI-powered data management platform purpose-built for connected vehicles, smart mobility, and the IoT ecosystem. By leveraging mobility data, Upstream empowers customers with advanced, AI-driven applications across various use cases, including proactive vehicle quality monitoring and detection, cybersecurity detection and response (XDR), misuse detection, usage-based insurance, and more.

We are looking for a talented Controller to join our Finance team. This role includes managing accounting, taxation and payroll across several subsidiaries, overseeing regulatory and financial reporting and assistance in preparing budgets and forecasts.

As a Controller you will be reporting to the CFO and be part of a team that is responsible for the finance, accounting, and reporting activities for the company.

This is a full-time, Israel-based, 9-month maternity leave cover position, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for all day-to-day financial activities of Upstream’s subsidiaries.
• Responsible for the payroll process in several subsidiaries
• Responsibility for the monthly and annual closing process of Upstream’s subsidiaries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee and review all bookkeeping activities to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
• Assist with various ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and cross-functional teams.
  
  

• CPA with 2+ years of experience in outsourced finance / CFO services firm.
• Experience from one of the “Big 4” accounting firms or a leading supporting high-tech and startup companies is a plus.
• High level of Excel
• Experience in NetSuite
• Excellent English
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to improve finance processes, analysis, reporting, or operational efficiency
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations
• Expertise in international taxation is a plus
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of Integrity, precision, and accuracy
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
