VP R&D

StoreNext is a leading B2B technology group in Israel, providing SaaS solutions across procurement, finance, and data analytics.

We are looking for a visionary and execution-driven VP R&D to lead the transformation of our engineering organization into a unified, scalable, and AI-driven development group.

This is a key leadership role responsible not only for managing R&D, but for building a cohesive engineering organization across multiple internal and external development teams, spanning diverse products, domains, and technologies.

As VP R&D, you will define and implement a group-wide engineering strategy, introduce standardized methodologies, and lead the adoption of AI across both development processes and next-generation agent-based products.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a unified R&D organization across multiple products, teams, and external vendors

• Define and implement a group-wide engineering strategy, architecture, and operating model

• Establish consistent development methodologies, standards, and best practices across all teams

• Lead and scale multiple engineering teams and team leaders, fostering a strong, collaborative engineering culture

• Drive the evolution of a large-scale, distributed, microservices-based platform

• Lead the development of next-generation, AI-powered and agent-based products

• Drive deep adoption of AI across the R&D lifecycle — from coding and testing to architecture and delivery

• Introduce measurable frameworks to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery velocity

• Work closely with Product, Business, and Executive leadership to align technology with company strategy

Requirements

• Proven experience leading large-scale R&D organizations, including multiple teams and team leaders

• 12+ years of hands-on software development experience

• 5+ years in senior R&D leadership roles (VP / Director level)

• Strong experience managing complex environments with multiple products and/or external development teams

• Deep understanding of modern architectures (microservices, distributed systems, cloud-native)

• Hands-on experience with AI technologies and/or leading AI adoption in engineering organizations

• Experience implementing engineering processes, standardization, and organizational scaling

• Strong strategic thinking alongside high execution capability

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• High level of ownership, passion, and drive
