Electronic Technician / Practical Engineer (Senior)

About the Role

At IMDT, we design and manufacture high-performance Edge AI and computer vision systems that

power the next generation of robotics, medical devices, and smart infrastructure. We are looking for an

experienced Electronic Technician / Practical Engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience

to join our R&D lab in Kfar-Saba within the hardware validation team.

In this role, you will work hands-on with state-of-the-art technology, including advanced AI accelerators

and multi-sensor vision platforms based on leading chipsets like Qualcomm, NXP, and Renesas. Your

focus will be on electrical validation, debug, and rework of complex System-on-Module (SOM) and

Single-Board Computer (SBC) designs, along with helping define test setups and preparing development

kits for internal teams and demos. Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn new hardware

platforms quickly matter more to us than formal credentials — practical, maker-level experience is

welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Validation: Independently lead hands-on electrical testing and validation of advanced

SOMs, carrier boards, and AI vision modules through qualification.

• Advanced Debug & Failure Analysis: Use high-end lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers,

multimeters, programmable power supplies) to troubleshoot complex hardware issues, root-cause

board-level failures, and drive corrective actions with minimal supervision.

• Test Setup & Jig Development: Help define, build, and maintain advanced test benches and

custom jigs required for high-speed signal validation and production test.

• Rework & Prototyping: Perform soldering, rework, and modification of prototype boards (SMT/TH)

in support of debug and design-change iterations.

• Development Kit Testing & Preparation: Test, configure, and prepare development kits and

evaluation boards for internal teams and customer/demo use.

Documentation: Produce detailed, accurate reports on electrical performance, validation results, and

hardware issues, and maintain test documentation to a professional standard.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma (Practical Engineer / Technician) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or

equivalent hands-on / self-taught (maker) background with proven practical experience.

• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in electronics validation, testing, or lab-based

hardware debug.

• Technical Literacy: Strong knowledge of electronic components and proven ability to

independently read and interpret complex electrical schematics.

• Equipment Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with measurement equipment such as

multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and programmable power supplies.

• Soldering & Rework: Demonstrated practical experience with soldering and PCB rework for

prototype modifications.

• Methodical Approach: Detail-oriented, organized, and methodical, with the judgment to prioritize

and drive lab-based experimental work with limited guidance.

• Attention to Detail: Good memory for technical detail, able to track test configurations and prior

findings accurately over time.

• Fast Learner: Quick to pick up new hardware platforms, tools, and test procedures.

Communication: Team player with a proactive attitude, comfortable working independently and

collaborating with senior R&D engineers.
