Senior Tech Lead (Hands-on)

Location: Tel Aviv (Hybrid) | Reports to: VP R&D

About the Role

At Madlan, we are redefining the real estate industry through data, transparency, and technology. We are looking for a Senior Tech Lead to serve as the technological compass of the department and act as a strategic right hand to the VP R&D.

This is a 100% hands-on role combining critical core coding, architectural leadership, intensive mentorship, and driving an AI-First mindset across the engineering culture. Your goal goes beyond shipping features—it is about building and cultivating a sharp, autonomous, and high-performing engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Architecture & Code (Hands-on): Lead end-to-end architecture (Backend & Frontend), take ownership of the stack, databases, and repositories, and write complex core system components.
• Product-to-Tech Translation: Deconstruct complex product requirements into clear, precise, and actionable technical breakdowns for developers.
• Mentorship & Engineering Excellence: Empower and develop team members, conduct rigorous code reviews, run engineering post-mortems (lessons learned), and build a culture of continuous knowledge sharing.
• Agile & Delivery: Drive technical task decomposition, set realistic estimations, and execute stable, predictable sprint deliveries.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of software development experience, including a proven track record as a Tech Lead / Staff Engineer with strong Full-Stack architecture expertise (with heavy depth in Backend).
• Database Expertise: Deep understanding of database design, optimization, and management across both SQL and NoSQL environments.
• Strong Mentorship: Proven capability to grow engineers, share knowledge, and establish high engineering standards.
• Agile Mastery: Ability to turn complex demands into well-defined tasks and maintain a fast, reliable delivery pace.

Nice-to-Have

• AI Experience: Hands-on work with LLMs and AI tools integrated into products or dev-workflow automation.
• DevOps/Cloud Background: Deep understanding of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and cloud architecture.

זהו תפקיד 100% Hands-on המשלב כתיבת קוד קריטי, הובלת ארכיטקטורה, מנטורינג אינטנסיבי והטמעת תרבות פיתוח מבוססת AI-First Mindset. המטרה אינה רק פיתוח פיצ'רים, אלא בנייה והצמחה של צוות פיתוח חד, עצמאי ומצוין.

מה תעשה/י בפועל?

• ארכיטקטורה וקוד (Hands-on): הובלת הארכיטקטורה (Backend & Frontend), בעלות מקצה לקצה על ה-Stack, ה-DBs וה-Repositories, וכתיבת רכיבי הליבה המורכבים במערכת.
• תרגום מוצר לטכנולוגיה: פירוק דרישות מוצר מורכבות ל-Technical Breakdown מדויק, ברור וישים עבור המפתחים.
• מנטורינג ומצוינות הנדסית: העצמה ופיתוח מקצועי של חברי הצוות, הובלת Code Reviews קפדניים, ביצוע תחקירים הנדסיים (Lessons Learned) ובניית תרבות של שיתוף ידע (Knowledge Sharing).
• Agile & Delivery: ניהול הפירוק הטכני, קביעת Estimations ריאליים והובלת ספרינטים יציבים וצפויים (Predictable Delivery).

טכנולוגיות:

Back End Technologies:

Languages / Frameworks: Node.js + TypeScript for website backend development. Work with gRPC and GraphQL for efficient communication. Clojure (JVM)

Data Storage: Utilize PostgresQL + PostGiS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis for efficient data storage and retrieval. Processing pipelines: Work with AirFlow and Kafka for robust data processing pipelines.

Integration / Deployment:AWS (EKS, RDS, S3), Docker, Kubernetes + Helm + Skaffold, CircleCI for seamless integration and deployment, Kibana (logs).

Front End Technologies: JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, React 17–19, Next.js

• לפחות 7 שנות ניסיון בפיתוח תוכנה, כולל ניסיון מוכח כ-Tech Lead / Staff Engineer: ניסיון מוכח בהובלה טכנית ובארכיטקטורת Full-Stack (עם עומק חזק ב-Backend).
• מומחיות ב-Databases: הבנה עמוקה בעיצוב, אופטימיזציה וניהול של DBs בסביבות SQL ו-NoSQL.
