Java Team Lead

The company has engineered an advanced AI, Machine Learning, and Big Data-driven platform that empowers global digital enterprises to detect and neutralize fraudulent transactions, brand abuse, counterfeit sales, and illicit activities in real time.

Following a strategic merger with a major US technology enterprise, the organization employs hundreds of professionals globally, maintaining a key R&D center in Israel.

Located in central Tel Aviv (walking distance from the train station), operating on a hybrid work model with 1 day WFH per week.

Role Description-

• Leading a high-caliber Software Development Team of 5 engineers (including remote/global members), reporting directly to the R&D Director in Israel.
• Maintaining a Hands-On (~30%) development role while providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to the team.
• Driving the design, development, and scaling of high-throughput production systems handling millions of digital entities and complex real-time decision-making engines.
• Developing resilient, scalable backend services utilizing Java / Spring, containerized on Docker / Kubernetes, and hosted on AWS.
• Working extensively with modern data stores and analytical infrastructure (MySQL, BigQuery, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and global R&D teams to deliver robust fraud prevention capabilities.

Requirements-

• 3+ years of proven managerial experience as a Software Engineering Team Lead / Development Manager – Mandatory
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience building complex backend systems – Mandatory
• Strong proficiency in modern backend development (Language agnostic, with a strong preference for Java / Spring) – Mandatory
• Solid hands-on experience architecting and developing on modern Cloud platforms (preferably AWS) – Mandatory
• Proven background with container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) – Mandatory
• Significant practical experience with Big Data and Distributed Data Processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink) – Significant Advantage
• Background in Anti-Fraud, Fintech, Cyber, or High-Scale Real-Time Data Platforms – Advantage
