FinOps Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a FinOps Engineer to join our Operations team and take ownership of cloud cost management and optimization across our multi-cloud environment.
This role combines cloud technology, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. You will monitor cloud spending, identify optimization opportunities, manage cloud commitments, and provide actionable insights that support informed business and technical decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor cloud usage and costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Identify cost anomalies, unusual spending patterns, and optimization opportunities
- Manage Reserved Instances and other cloud commitments
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and cost-related performance metrics
- Analyze cloud invoices and explain billing changes and cost fluctuations
- Support annual cloud budget planning, forecasting, and ongoing spend management
- Translate technical cloud usage data into clear financial insights and recommendations
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Production, Development, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve cloud cost visibility, governance, and efficiency
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud cost optimization
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, services, pricing models, and commercial commitments
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments, particularly with AWS and Azure
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer and Azure Cost Management
- Experience managing Reserved Instances
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical skills and financial understanding
- Ability to identify trends and anomalies and translate data into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Familiarity with Umbrella
- Experience working with GCP
- Technical background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or a related field
