ZEROSHOT is a boutique cybersecurity company. We are a small, senior team building products for environments where getting it wrong is not an option — closed, classified and air-gapped networks. The Role

We are looking for a Senior Python Backend Developer to design and build the core of our platform. This is not a ticket-taking role. You will sit close to the product and close to the user: shaping requirements, challenging them, translating operational security problems into systems, and then building them end to end.

A significant part of our work happens inside closed and air-gapped infrastructures. That means engineering without a safety net — no cloud console, no package registry on tap, no AI coding assistant looking over your shoulder. We are looking for someone who is genuinely strong on their own: a deep command of Python and of the systems underneath it, and the discipline to debug hard problems with a terminal, documentation, and their own judgment.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and own backend services in Python — architecture, implementation, testing and production behavior
• Engineer for constrained, closed and air-gapped environments: offline dependency management, deterministic builds, on-prem deployment and upgrades
• Work directly with customers and end users — understand their operational workflows, run sessions in the field, and bring what you learn back into the product
• Partner with product on what gets built and why, not just how; push back and propose alternatives when the technical reality calls for it
• Set the engineering bar: code review, design review, and mentoring across the team
• Own features end-to-end, from first conversation to deployment and supported in production

What You Bring

• 8+ years of professional backend development experience, the majority in Python
• Experience as a senior developer or team lead — you have carried technical ownership for a system and for the people around it
• Proven ability to develop in closed, offline or air-gapped infrastructures, without reliance on AI coding agents or copilots
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, networking, Linux, SQL and NoSQL databases, API design, testing, and Docker and infrastructure optimization experience.
• Product sense — you ask who the user is and what problem this actually solves before you write code
• Comfortable in a customer-facing role: presenting, listening, and explaining technical decisions to non-engineers
• Fluent, self-sufficient in debugging and problem-solving under real production pressure
• Hebrew and English — professional working proficiency

Advantages
