Algorithm Sonar Systems / Radar Dept.
Develop and validate underwater acoustic signal processing algorithms for advanced sonar systems (active/passive), from concept to operational integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms for Detection, Classification, Localization, Tracking and Beamforming.
- Analyze underwater sound propagation models and sea trial/simulation data.
- Implement algorithms in Real-Time/Near Real-Time environments.
- Collaborate with System, Software, and Hardware teams on constraints and performance.
- Development of underwater acoustic signal processing algorithms:
- Detection, Classification, Localization, Tracking.
- Beamforming (classic and adaptive).
- Estimation of range, direction, and velocity (Doppler).
- Analysis of underwater sound propagation models (Underwater Acoustics).
- Working with sea trials data and simulation data.
- Algorithm implementation in simulation environments followed by production code (Real-Time / Near Real-Time).
- Collaboration with:
- Systems Engineering – defining requirements and performance.
- Software – integration and code optimization.
- Hardware – adaptation to computational constraints.
- Algorithm testing, performance analysis, and writing technical report
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in EE, Physics, or Math; M.Sc. in Signal Processing/Acoustics preferred
- Expertise in DSP (FFT, filters, correlation), Statistics, and Linear Algebra
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Python (C/C++ is an advantage)
- Familiarity with Sonar (Passive/Active, Arrays, Signatures)
Advantages: Defense/maritime experience, Machine Learning, and Security Clearance
- Proven experience in signal processing algorithm development.
- Strong knowledge of:
- DSP – FFT, filters, correlation, spectrum.
- Probability and Statistics.
- Linear Algebra.
- Experience working with:
- MATLAB / Python.
- C / C++ (an advantage).
- Familiarity with the sonar domain:
- Passive / Active Sonar.
- Arrays, Hydrophones.
- Acoustic Signatures (an advantage).
- Understanding of system constraints: SNR, Latency, computational limits, memory
Advantages:
- Experience in defense / maritime projects.
- Experience in Machine Learning for sonar applications.
- Familiarity with STANAG / relevant military specifications.
- Experience in sea trials and real-world data analysis.
- Security Clearance – an advantage.
