Technical Customer Lead / Senior FAE

This is a technical customer-facing role with direct influence on product readiness, customer validation, and first commercial deployments in a fast-growing UAV communications market.

The role

We’re looking for a Technical Customer Lead / Senior FAE to act as the technical bridge between R&D, Product, and our customers. This is a hybrid role: part internal technical program driver, part customer-facing field lead.

You’ll work with R&D and Product to drive product readiness across open development and integration items, and with customers, prospects, partners, and integrators worldwide to plan, execute, and document field trials and proof-of-concept deployments.

Success in this role means turning field and customer feedback into clear technical priorities, while helping customers and partners validate and deploy the solution successfully.

The role reports to the CRO due to its direct impact on customer trials, market validation, and early commercial deployments.

What you’ll do

• Drive open development and integration items to completion in close coordination with R&D, Product, and QA.
• Translate findings from the field into structured, prioritized Engineering requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
• Plan, lead, and document field trials and POCs with prospective customers and integrators worldwide.
• Provide hands-on technical pre-sales support: site surveys, link analysis, integration architecture, system configuration.
• Troubleshoot RF, wireless, and integration issues live in the lab and in the field.
• Build and maintain practical test automation and scripts used to validate firmware, application, and end-to-end system behavior in lab and field; work with R&D/QA on CI/CD-based validation where relevant.
• Train channel partners and integrators; build and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, and application notes.

Must Have

• 3+ years as FAE / Solutions Engineer / Systems Engineer for wireless, RF, telecom, defense communications, UAV, networking, or similar systems.
• Proven experience leading customer POCs, field trials, or technical pilots.
• Strong hands-on RF and wireless systems background, including link budgets, LOS/NLOS path analysis, RF measurements, and practical spectrum/regulatory considerations (FCC / ETSI).
• Solid IP networking knowledge — L2/L3, VLANs, QoS, routing fundamentals; comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Practical scripting for testing, diagnostics, log parsing, and automation - Python preferred; Bash / shell scripting required.
• Ability to translate field findings into clear engineering requirements and drive Engineering/Product teams through influence rather than authority.
• Excellent English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel internationally for customer trials, partner enablement, and key deployments. Travel intensity may be high during trial periods.

Strong Advantage

• B.Sc. in EE / Communications / Computer Engineering.
• UAV / drone / defense communications experience.
• Familiarity with UAV-specific protocols and stacks.
• Embedded Linux system-level debugging.
• CI/CD experience with GitLab / GitHub.
• Mobile app testing or integration experience.
• Startup or early-product environment experience.
