A technology company developing communication hardware for smart metering and IoT products is looking for an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join its R&D team.

The role combines hands-on RF engineering with full technical ownership of the RF product lifecycle, from design and development through mass production and regulatory certification.

The position involves working with proprietary communication networks and modern standards, including LoRa, NB-IoT and Cat-M, while influencing the technical direction of the RF domain.

🔹 The role

• Design and develop RF systems operating at sub-GHz and cellular frequencies

• Perform simulations and optimize RF circuits and antennas

• Test, integrate and troubleshoot complex RF circuits

• Work closely with external PCB layout designers to ensure optimal RF routing

• Lead FCC and CE compliance activities, including preparation, coordination with certification laboratories and final product certification

• Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware and System teams, as well as external vendors and subcontractors

• Provide technical support to field engineers and partners, primarily in the US and other global locations, to resolve complex technical issues

• Guide engineering technicians, share technical knowledge and help improve the team’s professional standards

• Manage multiple technical tasks independently and help steer the technical direction of the RF domain

• Lead RF products from concept to mass production, including DFM and the definition of RF testing fixtures and procedures

✅ Required background

• BSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

• At least 10 years of proven RF development experience

• Proven RF design experience at relevant frequencies and proficiency with RF simulation tools

• Hands-on experience with standard RF measurement equipment, including spectrum analyzers and network analyzers

• Strong background in ultra-low-power RF design for battery-powered IoT and smart metering devices

• Hands-on experience with modern RF SoCs, transceivers and cellular modules

• Experience designing matching networks, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers and filters

• Experience taking RF products from concept through mass production

• Previous experience leading FCC and CE compliance testing

• High-level written and spoken English for technical documentation, certification processes and international technical support

Experience in antenna design and characterization is a significant advantage.

Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills are required, along with the ability to bridge legacy systems and new technologies. The role also requires analytical thinking, advanced problem-solving abilities, a system-level understanding of RF integration within IoT and telematics products, independence, initiative and a mentorship mindset.
