About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, curious, and strategically-minded Market Intelligence Analyst to join our team at Gain. Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and securing high-value data sources and commodity market intelligence globally.

This is not a traditional entry-level role. We are seeking a professional who possesses a high degree of business acumen, creative thinking, and the ability to look at data through a strategic lens-extracting actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Market Research: Actively explore and map international markets, monitoring open and specialized sources to identify high-quality data providers and market intelligence in the commodities sector.
• Data Verification & Quality Assurance: Evaluate the credibility, validity, and accuracy of data from various global vendors, ensuring strict quality standards before integration.
• Procurement & Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations and collaborate on legal terms with international data vendors to secure licensing and data agreements.
• Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with global data suppliers; oversee contract execution, deliverables, and ongoing compliance.
• Strategic Insights & Meaning Derivation: Go beyond raw data-analyze trends, connect the dots, and translate complex market data into meaningful, strategic insights for leadership.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, International Relations, or a related field.
• Strategic & Creative Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, draw high-level conclusions from raw information, and approach challenges with innovative solutions.
• Negotiation & Commercial Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to negotiate terms and build partnerships with international vendors.
• Analytical Mindset: High attention to detail combined with strong research, data validation, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Fluent-level English (written and spoken) – Must.

Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience or familiarity with global commodity markets, financial data, or data procurement.
• Experience negotiating commercial contracts or licensing agreements.
