Lead AI Engineer

What will you do?

As a Lead AI Engineer, you will own the delivery of complex, multi-component products and play a pivotal role in shaping how our engineering teams leverage AI-driven product development.

In this role, you will function as a hybrid of engineer, architect, analyst, and product partner. You will establish pod-level AI workflows, lead the adoption of agentic development practices across teams, and build AI-enabled solutions that significantly improve engineering velocity and output quality. You will drive cross-functional alignment, mentor teams on pragmatic AI leverage, and encode organizational and domain knowledge into scalable context layers to maximize product impact.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Own the end-to-end delivery of complex multi-component products, ensuring technical cohesion across services and data layers.
• Agentic Workflows & Standards: Establish pod-level AI workflows and engineering standards that ensure high-quality output from both human engineers and AI agents.
• AI-Enabled Velocity: Build and scale AI-enabled solutions that drive measurable improvements in team velocity, quality, and execution efficiency.
• Context & Domain Encoding: Encode organizational and domain knowledge into context layers and prompt guardrails to scale expert judgment across the engineering organization.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Lead cross-functional pods, drive execution alignment, and balance technical debt management with rapid AI-driven feature delivery.
• Strategic Influence & Product Impact: Act as a strategic partner to align scope, architecture, and success metrics, ensuring teams are solving high-value problems with clear business impact.
• Mentorship & AI Culture: Shape the organizational culture regarding AI-driven development and mentor engineering teams on pragmatic AI leverage and delivery excellence.

• Proven experience (at least 5+ years) in software engineering, architecture, and leading complex technical projects in SaaS or data-driven environments.
• Deep hands-on experience in building, architecting, and deploying AI-driven systems, LLM applications, or agentic workflows.
• Strong architectural background with the ability to ensure cohesion across multi-component platforms, microservices, and data layers.
• Demonstrated experience in driving engineering standards, developer velocity improvements, and CI/CD/AI practices.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership skills - ability to bridge technical strategy with product vision and business metrics.
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional pods, and fostering technical adoption.
• Strong analytical mindset with a data-informed approach to measuring execution efficiency and product success.
• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach in a dynamic, hybrid environment.
