Senior Development Team Lead

A profitable and growing fintech company in central Israel is looking for an exceptional Senior R&D Team Lead with strong hands-on engineering capabilities and deep practical experience with AI development tools and coding agents.

This is a highly influential role for an experienced development leader who can lead people, architecture, and execution while staying deeply involved in the technology.

The company operates several complex, business-critical transactional systems, with a diverse technology environment that includes PHP, MySQL, .NET, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and legacy technologies.

We are looking for someone with broad technological expertise who can quickly understand complex systems end-to-end, lead significant new development, and make sound architectural decisions across multiple technologies.

Just as important, we are looking for someone who is already deeply hands-on with AI development tools and coding agents - not someone who only talks about AI, but someone who uses it extensively in day-to-day engineering work and knows how to turn it into better development practices, higher productivity, faster delivery, and stronger technical quality across the team.

What You’ll Do:

• Directly manage and professionally lead a small development team
• Lead complex development initiatives from architecture and planning through stable production
• Stay deeply involved in System Design, architecture, Code Reviews, and solving complex technical challenges
• Build new systems and capabilities while improving and modernizing existing platforms
• Improve development delivery, execution, and predictability
• Lead the practical adoption of AI tools and coding agents across the development lifecycle
• Work closely with company leadership and directly influence technological priorities and product development

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience directly managing software development teams
• Strong Backend or Full Stack development background
• Recent hands-on experience in architecture, System Design, code, and Production
• Proven experience leading complex, business-critical systems
• Experience in Fintech, Payments, Transactional SaaS, High Availability, or a similarly demanding environment
• Broad technological knowledge across multiple technologies and codebases
• Strong experience with Delivery, Deployments, Releases, and Production
• Extensive practical use of AI development tools and coding agents
• Proven ability to use AI to improve engineering speed, quality, and team productivity
• High ownership, strong technical judgment, and strong English
