About Matchi

Matchi is a growing AI platform for Israeli real-estate professionals. It brings properties, leads, intelligent matching, marketing, CRM, scheduling, WhatsApp and phone calls into one system used by more than 400 paying brokers and 65 offices.

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated junior engineer who wants to take an unusually central role in building and operating a complex AI product.

You will work directly with the CTO and support the wider team. Throughout the week, you may be a backend engineer, frontend engineer, DevOps engineer, QA engineer and data engineer sometimes all on the same day.

You will build features, investigate production issues, improve the interface, work with AI agents, analyze data, manage deployments and help decide how the system should evolve.

This is a pivotal position. We need someone who wants to become the engineering person people rely on when something needs to be built, understood or fixed.

What matters to us

Strong computer-science fundamentals

We do not expect you to know every framework. We do expect you to understand or be eager to deeply understand—what happens underneath them.

That includes:

• Data structures, algorithms and computational complexity
• Databases, indexing, transactions and data modeling
• The differences between relational, document and key-value databases
• HTTP, APIs and basic networking
• Processes, threads, concurrency and asynchronous execution
• Memory, caching and performance
• Testing, debugging and failure analysis
• Security and authentication fundamentals
• Basic system design and architectural tradeoffs

For example, you should be able to explain the differences between PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis: how they store data, what each is good at, what tradeoffs they introduce and why you would choose one over another for a particular problem.

We care about your reasoning, not memorized definitions.

AI-native engineering

Our development process is fully AI-assisted and increasingly agentic. You should be comfortable coding with AI tools and agents or highly motivated to master them.

This means knowing how to give agents context, break down problems, review generated code, test the result and understand what reaches production. AI should make you faster and more ambitious without replacing engineering judgment.

We also value:

• Curiosity, independence and fast learning
• Ownership of the complete outcome not only your part of the code
• Cloud knowledge and a basic understanding of DevOps
• The ability to move comfortably between unfamiliar technical areas

Fluent English and Hebrew is a must.
