Senior Backend & Cyber Engineer

About the Role & Company

We are an elite, profitable cyber-security startup backed by a premier defense VC fund and top industry figures (including a former Head of Mossad). We specialize in protecting mobile devices against high-tier, complex cyber threats for global defense organizations, political entities, and defense contractors.

We are looking for a Senior Backend & Cyber Engineer to join our fast-paced, highly skilled R&D team (6 engineers). In this role, you will take full ownership of designing, building, and deploying mission-critical protection systems from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Backend services in Python / Go / C++.
• Take an active role in architecting mobile cyber-defense and threat-detection systems for production environments.
• Work closely with the team on end-to-end features, from system architecture down to Linux hardware deployments and Docker containers.
• Operate in a dynamic, high-impact environment where speed, adaptability, and high security standards are key.

Requirements

• Cyber Security Experience: Solid understanding of cyber security concepts (Defensive, Offensive, or Fraud Detection or Military background in technological cyber units).
• Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building production-grade backend systems.
• *OS & System: Deep proficiency in Linux environments (Must).
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and/or Go (Open to strong experience with C++).
• Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• High adaptability, self-starter mindset, and the ability to thrive in a small, fast-moving team.

Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Military background in technological cyber units (e.g., 8200, Cyber/Mobile research & development units).
• Experience with hardware deployments / on-premise execution environments.
• Infrastructure / DevOps knowledge.
