Mechanical Engineer

Microcon, a subsidiary of CONTROP, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead projects as a Mechanical Design Engineer and work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and transfer airborne electro-optical surveillance systems into serial production.
• Take full ownership and leadership of company projects at various maturity stages, from development through high-volume serial production.
• Lead design improvement activities and generate manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Lead DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DTC processes.
• Manage subcontractors and resolve production line issues.
• Provide full support and lead failure investigation and root-cause analysis activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead mechanical design efforts for product revisions and derivative configurations.
• Develop, manufacture, and document electronic packaging solutions, including circuit boards and cabling.
• Maintain full responsibility for the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Support procurement activities for development projects.
• Gradually integrate into subsystem development and progress toward full ownership of new product development, considering performance requirements, specifications, manufacturability, precision, weight, and cost constraints.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in the defense industry.
• Familiarity with the development of opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Proven ability to lead transfer-to-production processes and provide support throughout the product lifecycle.
• Experience in developing precision mechanisms or assemblies, as well as static or dynamic systems designed to operate under extreme environmental conditions.
• Ability to lead mechanical design activities under tight schedules as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience managing subcontractors.
• Demonstrated ability to write development documentation and technical review materials.
• Full proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong teamwork capabilities, and a responsible, proactive attitude.
