NVIDIA’s Networking System Validation Group is growing, and we are hiring a Junior Switch System Validation Engineer. As a member of the team, you will contribute to NVIDIA’s core networking projects, which help drive the company’s technological and business growth. You will develop knowledge of networking technologies and switch microarchitecture while helping validate, optimize, and debug devices in areas such as Quality of Service, performance, logic correctness, and AI-related features.
Working alongside experienced validation engineers, logic designers, circuit designers, and architects, you will contribute to successful product development across aggressive product cycles and gain hands-on experience in both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation. You should have a solid foundation in software development and an interest in areas such as Python scripting, embedded software, device firmware, emulation, and silicon validation. This is an opportunity to learn, grow, and take increasing ownership in a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Work as part of a combined design and verification team specializing in switch full-chip validation.
- Learn switch architecture and microarchitecture and translate requirements into validation scenarios.
- Contribute to the development of full-chip test plans, test suites, and validation collateral.
- Develop and maintain tests using Python and C in a Linux environment.
- Run regressions, analyze results, and debug test failures with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Help maintain test suites used for simulation, emulation and silicon platform bring-up and checkout.
- Collaborate with design, architecture, firmware, and validation teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Improve validation flows, automation, test coverage, and debugging capabilities.
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; outstanding recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Academic or practical programming experience with Python and familiarity with C or C++.
- Basic experience working in a Linux environment.
- Understanding of computer architecture, digital systems, networking, embedded systems, or related areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Motivation to learn complex systems and investigate technical problems.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Academic projects, internships, or practical experience involving verification, validation, embedded systems, firmware, or networking.
- Familiarity with network protocols or switch architecture.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, operating systems, or multithreaded application development.
- Exposure to simulation, emulation, FPGA, or silicon bring-up environments.
- Experience developing automated tests, debugging software or hardware failures, or analyzing test results.
