Role Description The R&D Physicist will work on-site in Rehovot in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design, modeling, and optimization of advanced detection technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and validating physical models, performing simulations and analyzing data to improve device performance. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary R&D, engineering, and production teams to translate theoretical concepts into manufacturable prototypes and products. The physicist will document findings, prepare technical reports and presentations, and support troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities across the product lifecycle. The position also includes staying current with relevant scientific literature and industry trends to inform new concepts and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in experimental physics, including experience with modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience designing and conducting laboratory experiments, including use of measurement and characterization equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and collaborate with engineering and production staff.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., scientific computing environments, simulation packages, data analysis tools).
- Advanced degree in Physics or a closely related field (M.Sc. or Ph.D.), with experience in detectors or solid state as an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to projects from concept through development and validation.
- Prior industry experience in detectors, detection systems, or high-tech hardware development is a plus.
