About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.
The position includes mechanical design and development of customized pharmaceutical equipment, from the initial concept and detailed design stages through manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and customer acceptance.
The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with R&D, automation, electrical engineering, production, quality, project management, suppliers, and international customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop pharmaceutical and cleanroom equipment, including isolators, RABS, passboxes, glove-testing systems, and customized process equipment.
- Create mechanical concepts, detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Design stainless-steel sheet-metal structures, welded assemblies, frames, doors, glove ports, piping, ducts, and mechanical mechanisms.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and documentation for production and procurement.
- Select mechanical components, materials, seals, actuators, motors, bearings, and pneumatic components.
- Integrate mechanical systems with electrical, automation, pneumatic, HVAC, and process systems.
- Design equipment according to GMP requirements, including cleanability, accessibility, ergonomics, maintainability, and contamination-control principles.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design verification.
- Participate in design reviews and prepare technical solutions according to customer requirements.
- Support production, machining, sheet-metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work directly with suppliers and subcontractors regarding technical and manufacturing requirements.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), equipment installation, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
- Investigate mechanical issues and implement corrective engineering solutions.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain accurate drawing and revision control.
- Support international customers during technical reviews and project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering — mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design or machine development.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D and 2D — mandatory, as well as Solidworks electrical.
- Strong experience with large assemblies, sheet metal, weldments, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances, fits, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with stainless-steel fabrication, sheet-metal bending, welding, machining, and surface finishing.
- Ability to take responsibility for a mechanical design from concept through manufacturing and final assembly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on engineering approach.
- Excellent technical English, including reading and writing — mandatory.
- Good written and spoken Hebrew.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to support installation activities and travel when required.
- Experience designing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, food-processing, or cleanroom equipment.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and hygienic equipment design.
- Experience with aseptic isolators, containment systems, RABS, VHP systems, or filling lines.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, airflow systems, P&IDs, instrumentation, and process equipment.
- Experience working with SolidWorks PDM or another engineering document-control system.
- Experience integrating third-party machines, robots, conveyors, and automated systems.
- Familiarity with design risk assessments and validation activities, including FAT, SAT, IQ, and OQ.
- Experience working directly with international customers and suppliers.
- A central role in the design and development of advanced pharmaceutical equipment.
- Involvement in complex international engineering projects from concept to installation.
- A multidisciplinary and hands-on working environment.
- Collaboration with leading pharmaceutical manufacturers and technology partners.
- Professional development in mechanical engineering, automation, aseptic processing, and pharmaceutical equipment.
