About the Role

Jones is looking for a hands-on Product Designer to create clear, intuitive, and scalable experiences that make our product easier and more valuable for customers.

You will help turn complex customer and business problems into simple, effective product experiences. The role combines strong UX thinking, customer research, product judgment, and high-quality visual execution.

You will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and customers throughout the full design process—from discovery and research to detailed, implementation-ready designs.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with Product Managers to translate customer and business problems into simple, effective product experiences.
• Own the design process from discovery through user flows, wireframes, prototypes, validation, detailed UI, and implementation.
• Conduct UX research, including customer interviews, usability testing, and analysis of other software, comparable products, and industry best practices.
• Translate customer feedback and requests into a deeper understanding of underlying needs and workflow challenges.
• Design end-to-end workflows, screens, prototypes, and reusable components for complex B2B use cases.
• Balance customer value, business priorities, technical constraints, and engineering effort.
• Apply and thoughtfully evolve Jones’s existing design system while maintaining a consistent, polished product experience.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are practical, clear, and implemented with high quality.
• Bring customer insights and usability considerations into product discovery and planning.
• Improve existing workflows and experiences while also contributing to new product capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience designing digital products, preferably complex B2B SaaS or workflow-based applications.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, problem solving, interaction design, and polished visual execution.
• Experience conducting UX research—including customer interviews, usability testing, and comparative product research—and translating findings into practical design solutions.
• The ability to uncover the underlying needs behind customer feedback and translate them into effective product solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills.
• The ability to take an ambiguous problem from discovery through validation and implementation.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, prototyping, and design systems.
• Experience creating clear, implementation-ready designs for engineering teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, customers, and customer-facing teams.
• High ownership, sound judgment, and a practical approach to design tradeoffs.
• The ability to thrive with autonomy while collaborating closely in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing AI-powered products or workflows involving AI.
• Experience designing complex operational, workflow-driven, or compliance products.
• Familiarity with product analytics and behavioral data.
• Experience creating functional prototypes independently.
• Familiarity with front-end development, such as React, HTML, or CSS.
• Familiarity with insurance, construction technology, commercial real estate, or compliance.
