A leading organization is seeking an experienced VP R&D to drive technology strategy, lead engineering teams, and build innovative AI-powered products at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and development teams end-to-end.
• Define and drive technology strategy, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Own the development and delivery of AI-based products and capabilities.
• Build and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Partner closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Manage external technology partners, vendors, and platforms.
• Maintain a hands-on approach when needed, including architecture reviews and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience in production environments.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing engineering organizations of 15+ engineers, including Engineering Managers and Tech Leads.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI products to production, including LLMs, RAG, and AI Agents.
• Proven track record of launching and scaling complex products.
• Strong expertise in cloud architecture, microservices, APIs, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience working with data-driven platforms, personalization engines, recommendation systems, or large-scale data solutions.
• Ability to lead people, technology, and execution while maintaining strong technical depth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in e-commerce, retail-tech, marketplaces, fintech, ad-tech, or consumer-facing platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working closely with executive leadership teams.
• Experience managing technology vendors and strategic partners.
