RevOps Software Engineer — Team Lead (70% hands-on)

RavenDB is a NoSQL database company. We sell on-premise licences and hosted cloud instances, and the systems that price, bill, invoice, and reconcile all of that are the ones you'll own.

The role in one paragraph

You write code roughly 70% of the time and lead a small team (2–4 engineers) the rest of it. You will be the person with the most commits on the team. You'll build and maintain the systems that connect sales, finance, and our customer-facing processes in C#/.NET: deal and subscription modelling, billing runs, payment provider integrations, invoicing, revenue reporting, and the Zoho CRM surfaces the business works in every day. You’ll run the engine (and the team) that makes all of it tick.

What you'll actually do

• Design and write the code. Own the modelling decisions: how a deal, term, payment schedule, and captured price relate, and what happens when one of them changes mid-term.
• Build integrations against CRM, financial systems, and payment providers — APIs, queues, webhooks, and the failure cases each of them has.
• Own correctness. Idempotent billing runs, reconciliation, audit trails, and controls that catch a mistake before a customer does.
• Lead a small team: code review, standards, plan the work, grow the people.
• Talk directly to the people in sales and finance who need the thing, and translate what they ask for into what should be built.

Requirements

• 6+ years building software, with 5+ hands-on in C#/.NET, and you're still coding now.
• 2–4 years leading a small team as its most hands-on engineer, not as a full-time manager. We want someone who can write code and architect complex solutions, as well as mentor their team.
• Deep experience with system-to-system integrations: APIs, message queues, webhooks, SQL, databases.
• Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and deciding what matters when priorities move.
• Strong written and verbal English.

Process

Intro call, then a take-home exercise of roughly 5–6 hours (two short design documents and two C#/.NET tasks, all self-contained - no infrastructure to build), then a 60-minute session where we walk through your submission and ask why you made specific decisions. Use AI tools; we do, heavily. The condition is that you can defend every line.
