Role Headline: Lead the development of the models and techniques at the core of Ghostlayer's platform.
Company Description: Ghostlayer predicts how an AI model will perform on a target edge system-on-chip - latency, memory, and power - at design time, before it's ever trained or flashed to hardware. Predictions cover the full model down to the individual layer and operator, and slot into your existing workflow with zero changes. That means no more burning dev time and training compute on models that were never going to fit the chip. Down the road, we'll also optimize the model architecture itself toward your targets. We work mainly with defense, drone, and robotics companies - and with any team building complex real-time edge AI system
Role Description: We are looking for an experienced AI researcher to lead the development of the models and techniques at the core of Ghostlayer's platform. You will research and build methods for analyzing, simulating, profiling, and optimizing AI workloads before they are deployed on physical hardware.
The role combines applied research with hands-on engineering, including experimenting with model architectures, performance estimation, hardware-aware optimization, and translating research ideas into production-ready capabilities. You will work closely with the founding team and help define Ghostlayer's technical direction from an early stage.
Qualifications: 5–8+ years in applied AI research, machine learning systems, model optimization, compilers, performance modeling, or a related field. A master's or PhD is an advantage, but strong industry experience and demonstrated technical depth are more important.
