Microsoft 365 Compliance & Purview Specialist (25409)

We are seeking an experienced M365 Compliance & Purview Specialist to support

the activation and operationalization of Microsoft Purview capabilities across the

enterprise.

This role serves as the primary Microsoft 365 Purview subject matter expert within

the Digital Workforce COE, working closely with Legal, Privacy, Cyber Security,

Information Security, Records Management, Risk, Compliance, and IT stakeholders

to understand business and regulatory requirements and assess how Microsoft

Purview capabilities can support those needs.

The specialist will help translate requirements into implementation plans, coordinate

across delivery teams, and support the deployment, adoption, and ongoing

optimization of Purview capabilities. The role works closely with Security Operations,

M365 Operations, Infrastructure, and other ITOA teams that are responsible for

technical implementation, operations, and platform support.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

 Partner with Legal, Cyber Security, Information Security, Privacy, Compliance,

Records Management, Risk, and business stakeholders to understand

governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

 Analyze business needs and identify relevant Microsoft Purview capabilities

that may address those requirements.

 Facilitate discussions between business and technical teams to align on

implementation approaches.

 Document requirements, use cases, decisions, dependencies, and

operational considerations.

 Support governance forums and working groups with Purview subject matter

expertise.

Microsoft Purview Capability Enablement

 Maintain expertise across Microsoft Purview capabilities and Microsoft

roadmap developments.

 Evaluate new Purview features and enhancements in partnership with

security, legal, privacy, and compliance stakeholders.

 Assess potential business value, compliance impact, operational

considerations, and implementation requirements.

 Support prioritization and planning activities for Purview-related initiatives.

 Assist with pilots, testing, validation, and rollout activities.

Delivery Coordination

 Work with Security Operations teams to support implementation of approved

Purview capabilities.

 Collaborate with M365 Operations, Infrastructure, Architecture, and other

ITOA teams to ensure successful delivery.

 Translate business requirements into functional and operational requirements

for implementing teams.

 Track initiative progress, dependencies, issues, and risks.

 Support testing, user acceptance activities, and deployment readiness

reviews.

Compliance & Information Protection Support

 Support initiatives involving:



o Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

o Sensitivity Labels

o Records Management

o Retention Policies

o eDiscovery

o Audit

o Insider Risk

o Communication Compliance

o Information Protection

 Assist in assessing how Purview capabilities can help address compliance

and information protection requirements.

 Support documentation of approved configurations, processes, standards,

and operating procedures.

 Work with stakeholders to evaluate control effectiveness and identify

improvement opportunities.

Copilot & AI Readiness

 Partner within Digital Workforce, Security, Legal, and Compliance

stakeholders to evaluate Purview capabilities that support Microsoft 365

Copilot and AI initiatives.

 Support implementation of approved governance, protection, and compliance

controls related to AI services.

 Help assess readiness, risks, and operational impacts associated with AI-

enabled capabilities
