Backend Team Leader

Role Overview

In this position, you will be part of a core engineering team responsible for developing and scaling Varonis’ Data Platform. The team handles massive, high‑scale event ingestion, processing, and storage - billions of events per day - including user activity, file operations, password changes, email security signals, and more, which helps our customers detect and respond to threats in Realtime.

You will work with big-data technologies such as Databricks and Azure Data Explorer and build high-throughput low-latency backend services in C#. You will join a group of exceptionally strong engineers working on challenging and impactful systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of about 6 Senior Engineers
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from design to production
• Collaborate with other teams
• Conduct design and code reviews, mentor and be a focal point for the team
• Be aligned with the team technical needs and capabilities
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
  
  

• At least 3 years as Team Leader of R&D
• At least 6 years of proven experience as a Software Engineer, C# - MUST
• Working on large-scale data intensive systems
• Great interpersonal and leadership skills
• Fast technology adaptation
