Assistant Controller

Chargeflow is looking for an Assistant Controller who thinks less like a traditional accountant and more like a builder. You'll play a central role in our monthly close and day-to-day financial operations - but just as importantly, you'll constantly ask how we can do it better, faster, and with less manual work. If your first instinct when you hit a repetitive task is “this should be automated,” you'll feel right at home here.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you'll take ownership of recurring close tasks, reconciliations, and reporting - while actively rethinking the processes behind them: deciding what a machine can do instead of a person, and building new workflows from scratch where none exist yet. We're not looking for someone to run the same old playbook. We want someone who isn't afraid to create something from zero.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving fintech, with broad exposure across billing, revenue, and operations, and modern systems (Stripe, Shopify, HubSpot). If you're organized, detail-obsessed, love a clean monthly close, and get genuinely excited about AI and automation - this one's for you.

What you'll do:

• Play a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes — including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations — and help shorten the close cycle over time.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (bank, credit card, payment processors, intercompany) and follow up on open items to resolution.
• Reconcile revenue and billing data across Stripe, Shopify, and internal systems, flagging discrepancies, denials, underpayments, and refund trends.
• Support the Billing team with accurate, timely preparation and review of client invoices.
• Help ensure revenue is recorded correctly in line with contracts and accounting policy.
• Own the company's Israeli corporate tax return end-to-end — preparing the required data, coordinating with external tax advisors, and ensuring timely, accurate filing and compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end audit requests and help keep documentation audit-ready.
• Work cross-functionally with Billing, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to resolve questions and keep data consistent.
• Leverage AI tools and automation to streamline reconciliations, close tasks, and reporting — building smarter, faster financial processes, and rethinking what should be done by a machine instead of by hand.
  
  

Requirements:

What we're looking for:

• A builder's mindset — excited by AI and automation, and unafraid to design new processes from scratch instead of running the classic accountant's playbook.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Certified CPA.
• CPA from a Big 4 accounting firm — preferably within the high-tech audit department.
• Experience within billing, financial operations, or reconciliation roles.
• Strong skills in financial statements preparation and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Stripe, Shopify, and other billing systems — preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Full professional fluency in English, both written and verbal.
