Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a Software Tech Lead, you will serve as the technical authority driving the development of high-performance core networking components (built in Java, C, and Node.js). Reporting directly to the VP of R&D, you will balance deep hands-on development with technical guidance for a highly skilled engineering team.

● Technical Guidance (~50% Hands-On): Lead by example through designing, coding, and architecting distributed core components while mentoring team members on engineering best practices.

● Architectural Ownership: Partner with R&D leadership to shape system architecture, evaluate emerging networking technologies, and ensure ultra-low latency and high availability across live deployments.

● Delivery & Quality: Own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle from system design and prototyping through automated testing and production deployment.

● Agile Execution: Direct day-to-day agile workflows, set technical priorities, conduct thorough code reviews, and maintain high engineering standards.

● AI-Assisted Engineering: Establish best practices for AI-driven software development, design-first workflows, and test automation to accelerate delivery speed.

Key Requirements

● 5+ years of experience in cellular core development or specialized network protocol engineering, with demonstrated experience acting as a Tech Lead or Team Lead or senior technical authority.

● Domain Expertise: In-depth understanding of 3G/4G/5G mobile core architecture and standard 3GPP protocols (such as GTP, Diameter, PFCP, S1AP/NGAP, NAS).

● Core Languages: High proficiency in Java or C.

● Distributed Systems: Proven track record designing and building complex, distributed, real-time software systems.

● Self-Directed: Strong capability to independently research, prototype, and implement complex technical solutions.

● Communication: Fluent written and spoken English.

Advantages / Nice-to-Haves

● Experience with specialized telecommunication services (e.g., VoLTE, VoNR, Lawful Interception, Cell Broadcast, non-terrestrial networks).

● Exposure to message brokers and modern data stores (Kafka, MongoDB, Couchbase, ELK stack).

● Familiarity with major cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
