Director of Engineering

We are looking for an Engineering Director to join our engineering leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.

In this leadership role, you will lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering group spanning AI, Full-Stack, AIOps, QA, and Data. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will serve as the strategic bridge between engineering execution and business outcomes, leading both people and delivery in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Own your Engineering group delivery end-to-end - planning, prioritization, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
• Drive accountability: commitments are kept, blockers are surfaced early, quality is non-negotiable.
• Directly manage all engineers and the Product Owner in your squad, supported by functional guilds.
• Run 1:1s, give meaningful feedback, support growth, and build a high-accountability team culture.
• Provide technical guidance in close partnership with Principal Architects and senior engineers.
• Stay engaged enough to earn trust, spot risk early, and make informed trade-off calls.
• Connect your squad's work to UVeye's business outcomes. Always ask why it matters before deciding what to build.
• Participate actively in leadership discussions on roadmap, resourcing, and strategy.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of total software engineering experience, including 4+ years managing managers in multi-disciplinary, fast-scaling product environments.
• Strong background across distributed systems, APIs, data engineering, and production software architecture.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling high-velocity engineering teams, developing talent, and driving operational excellence.
• Excellent ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategy for executive stakeholders and actionable direction for engineering teams.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
