Principal AI Engineer

One of our clients, a fast-growing FinTech SaaS company, is looking to hire a Principal AI Engineer.

Our client develops a modern SaaS platform that enables real estate investment firms and asset managers to efficiently manage the entire investment lifecycle. The platform streamlines complex financial operations, including investment management, investor onboarding, capital transactions, reporting, and stakeholder communication, helping customers improve operational efficiency and transparency.

As the company continues to scale, it is adopting an AI-first software engineering approach to accelerate product development and modernize its platform. Rather than using AI as a supporting tool, the engineering team is transforming the way software is built by embedding AI throughout the entire development lifecycle.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role for an exceptional software engineer who is passionate about modern engineering practices, AI-assisted development, and building scalable SaaS products. You will work closely with the VP R&D and engineering leadership, driving technical excellence while building production-grade software that powers the company's next generation platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end product features across the company's SaaS platform.
• Build high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software using an AI-first engineering methodology.
• Leverage modern AI development tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) throughout the software development lifecycle to maximize productivity and code quality.
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions for complex product initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, clean code, automated testing, and maintainable architectures.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges from design through production.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AI engineering technologies and workflows that improve development efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong Full Stack development experience building production SaaS applications.
• 3+ years of experience with TypeScript.
• Strong experience with React.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Next.js in production environments.
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js.
• Solid experience designing scalable architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience working closely with Product teams in fast-paced product organizations.
• Ability to translate partially defined business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Extensive hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools as a core part of your daily engineering workflow.
• Passion for modern software engineering and AI-driven development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
