Controller

Cover is a fast-growing Insurtech startup making insurance accessible, transparent, and easy — for individuals and businesses.

We are looking for a driven, highly analytical Controller to lead our finance team and report directly to our CFO. This is not a traditional accounting role — we are seeking a data-obsessed, cross-functional leader who goes beyond routine financial reports to dive deep into data analysis, financial strategy, process optimization, and legal touchpoints. If you have a proactive mindset, out-of-the-box thinking, and a hunger to make a direct impact, this role is for you.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and manage the daily operations of our finance team
• Partner directly with the CFO on financial modeling, strategy, and business planning
• Lead the annual budgeting process, continuous budget monitoring, and variance analysis (budget vs. actual)
• Dive deep into data and analytics, translating complex data sets into actionable business insights
• Manage operational financial processes including procurement, supplier payments, customer collections, and withholding tax administration
• Oversee statutory reporting to government authorities (VAT, Income Tax) and ensure regulatory compliance
• Touch on corporate legal aspects, including contract reviews and regulatory compliance
• Optimize and automate financial processes with an out-of-the-box approach
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with meticulous attention to detail

What We're Looking For:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Big 4 internship/training
• 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller post-Big 4 (preferably in a tech/startup environment)
• Proven experience managing and leading a finance team
• Hands-on proficiency with Excel, Priority ERP, and G-Suite
• Strong background in financial modeling, data manipulation, and budget management
• Familiarity with commercial terms and corporate legal processes
• Fluent in Hebrew and English
