About the Job

ELTA Systems, a division of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), is seeking a Space Manufacturing Technologist to support the development, industrialization, and manufacturing of advanced space technologies. This role bridges R&D and production, driving New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing process development, and compliance with the stringent standards required for space and defense applications.

What the Role Includes:

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for advanced electronic systems.
• Provide engineering support for electronic assembly production lines and ensure compliance with military and space manufacturing standards.
• Define and implement manufacturing materials and processes, including conformal coating and adhesive technologies.
• Evaluate electronic components for compatibility with electronic assembly processes.
• Work in accordance with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 Class 3, and ECSS space standards.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and R&D teams on electronic manufacturing and electromechanical assemblies.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reliability.
• Work with subcontractors and suppliers in Israel and internationally.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline – Required.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in electronic manufacturing processes – Required.
• Experience working with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 Class 3, and ECSS space standards.
• Hands-on experience with SMT, soldering, conformal coating, adhesives, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of PCB design, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
• Proven experience in failure analysis and root cause investigation.
• Deep understanding of advanced PCB soldering technologies.
