Software Engineer – Medical Imaging & Surgical Systems
Location: Ceasarea Israel, Full time

BeaMedical Technologies (BeaMed) is developing a next-generation MRI-guided surgical platform that combines advanced laser technology with real-time medical imaging to enable highly precise, minimally invasive thermal therapies. Our multidisciplinary team is pioneering a new standard in image-guided surgery, with applications spanning epilepsy, brain tumors, and a broad range of cancer treatments.
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic software engineer who wants to grow into a technical leader while working on cutting-edge medical technology with real clinical impact.
The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing software for a complex medical device integrating:
- Real-time MRI imaging data processing including thermometry
- Surgical laser control and real time feedback
- Surgical planning modules based on energy models and tissue segmentation
- Clinical workflow and user interface
- Device communication and system integration
You will work closely with a medical imaging expert together with other software engineers, algorithm developers, physicists, mechanical engineers, and clinical experts to build software that is reliable, safe, compliant and offers a breakthrough in clinical value.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software for an advanced surgical platform
- Develop applications primarily in C#/.NET
- Integrate real-time imaging, hardware, and control systems
- Collaborate with imaging scientists and algorithm developers
- Design robust, maintainable, and testable software architectures
- Participate in software verification and validation activities
- Contribute to software risk management and documentation required for regulatory submissions
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to improve productivity and software quality
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help define software engineering best practices and mentor junior engineers as the team grows
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Above two years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET
- Experience developing complex desktop or medical applications
- Experience with software architecture and object-oriented design
- Experience with Git and modern software development workflows
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Medical imaging (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, DICOM)
- Image processing or computer vision
- Medical device software development
- Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
- IEC 62304 software lifecycle processes
- ISO 13485 development environments
- IEC 60601 familiarity
- Software risk management (ISO 14971)
- AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar coding agents)
- Real-time systems or hardware integration
- Networking and communication protocols
- GPU programming or high-performance computing
