NOC Engineer Student

Description

Align Technology’s iTero IT Operations organization is seeking a motivated NOC Engineer Student to join the Observability / Network Operations Center (NOC) team, supporting iTero’s global digital services and scanner install base in a 24/7 operational environment.

This role is an entry-level, hands-on student position focused on monitoring, first-line troubleshooting, incident support, documentation, and learning operational best practices while working closely with experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts, dashboards, systems, and operational queues as part of the NOC shift activities.
• Perform initial troubleshooting, collect relevant information, and escalate issues to the appropriate engineers or teams.
• Support incident handling, ticket updates, shift handovers, and operational follow-ups.
• Document findings, actions taken, and recurring issues while helping maintain runbooks and operational knowledge.
• Work closely with experienced NOC engineers, R&D, DevOps, and IT teams while learning monitoring, observability, and incident management practices.
• Support and gradually lead internal and cross-group initiatives and process improvements.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Student currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Basic technical understanding of IT systems, networking, cloud, applications, or monitoring concepts.
• High attention to detail and willingness to follow operational procedures.
• Strong learning ability, curiosity, and motivation to grow in IT Operations and Observability.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic operational environment.
• Availability to work shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
  
  

Preferred / Advantage

• Previous experience in a NOC, help desk, technical support, IT operations, or monitoring environment.
• Advantage for background with Advantech, traditional NOC monitoring, infrastructure, networking, or systems.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, dashboards, cloud platforms, and incident management processes.
• Basic scripting, automation, data analysis, or hands-on AI tool experience.
