We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, results-driven and performance-driven NPI Engineer/ Electrical Engineer to join our growing team! Reporting to the Chief Product Officer and Director of Supply Chain, the NPI Engineer/ Electrical Engineer will be based in the Yokne’am office in Israel and will be responsible for leading the documentation recovery, knowledge-transfer, and production-readiness work required to support the transfer of the Venus systems and associated applicators to a new Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO). This role will be responsible for identifying and closing documentation gaps, organizing tribal and process knowledge into controlled manufacturing documentation, supporting PCBA and test fixture transfer activities, driving engineering build and validation readiness, and ensuring long-term internal ownership of key manufacturing knowledge
What you will do:
- Review, interpret, and maintain electrical drawings required for manufacturing transfer, documentation recovery, troubleshooting, and CMO production readiness.
- Support electrical schematic design review and documentation completeness to ensure transferred technical packages are accurate, usable, and aligned with manufacturing requirements.
- Apply knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing to evaluate board-level documentation, manufacturing constraints, testability, and transfer risks.
- Use OrCAD, Altium Designer, or equivalent EDA tools to review design files, support schematic / PCB documentation questions, and help resolve manufacturing-transfer gaps.
- Work hands-on with laboratory equipment to support product teardown, board-level investigation, fixture validation, functional testing, troubleshooting, and engineering build readiness.
- Support review of electrical safety considerations and high-voltage-related manufacturing or test risks where applicable, partnering with Engineering and Quality for final technical decisions.
- Close the documentation and knowledge gap for the Venus Systems (i.e. PCBAs and testing jigs).
- Bridge difficult technical communication and incomplete knowledge transfer between internal teams and the current / future manufacturer.
- Support NPI execution and validation activities, including engineering build readiness and IQ/OQ/PQ support.
- Strengthen cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external CMOs.
- Increase internal ownership of manufacturing knowledge to reduce transfer risk, dependency on external parties, and avoidable NRE spend.
- Perform a structured documentation gap assessment for Venus Systems, related applicators, in-scope PCBAs, and associated test / calibration fixtures.
- Build, organize, and maintain the technical transfer package required for successful production transfer and NPI execution at the selected CMO.
- Support transfer of PCBAs, test methods, test fixtures, manufacturing know-how, and production controls.
- Drive readiness for engineering builds, pilot builds, validation, training, and line qualification.
- Create durable internal knowledge capture and standards that can be reused for future transfer programs and sustaining operations.
- Review the existing manufacturing package for Venus Systems to determine what documentation is missing, incomplete, outdated, uncontrolled, or not transferable.
- Consolidate and organize available technical inputs such as costed BOMs, top-level assembly diagrams, drawings, specifications, CTQ requirements, build history, service user manuals, and forecast-related manufacturing assumptions.
- Identify documentation required for PCBA transfer, including BOM completeness, assembly drawings, Gerber files, fabrication drawings, CAD files, programming requirements, and test procedures where available.
- Establish and maintain a formal gap tracker with document status, owners, priorities, due dates, and escalation needs.
- Support document release, revision alignment, and controlled handoff of manufacturing documentation to internal stakeholders and external CMOs.
- Act as the technical bridge between internal stakeholders and the incumbent / future manufacturer to resolve incomplete, fragmented, or difficult-to-access manufacturing knowledge.
- Translate tribal knowledge into usable manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, test input requirements, BOM clarification, fixture requirements, and DHR / DMR-relevant production information.
- Work cross-functionally to collect, clarify, normalize, and document open technical assumptions that affect transfer scope, labor standards, test readiness, or qualification strategy.
- Support clarification of manufacturing intent where product design documents are incomplete for build-to-print / build-to-spec transfer execution.
- Define and track requirements for transferred or newly required assembly fixtures, test fixtures, calibration fixtures, packaging tooling, and supporting manufacturing aids.
- Support transfer or recreation of existing manufacturing and test fixtures; identify which fixtures may be transferred and which require development or duplication.
- Help establish or refine manufacturing work instructions, process flows, process matrices, inspection plans, routes, training documents, and equipment / tooling documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to support process controls, receiving inspection readiness, traceability expectations, and manufacturing software / equipment readiness as applicable.
- Build and maintain the formal transfer package for the selected CMO, ensuring clear traceability between source documents, assumptions, open items, and execution deliverables.
- Support transfer-related deliverables such as documentation capture, test transfer, fixture status, tooling requirements, pilot / NPI build support, training inputs, and project reporting.
- Coordinate identification of off-the-shelf (OTS) versus made-to-spec (MTS) component boundaries, PCBA transfer scope, and documentation release readiness.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to ensure the transfer package supports both commercial alignment and technical execution.
- Support engineering builds, pilot builds, and issue tracking through documented NPI phases.
- Drive readiness activities for manufacturing process development, routing, work instruction creation, tooling readiness, test development / transfer, line qualification, and training.
- Support validation planning and execution, including IQ/OQ/PQ support, protocol readiness, report inputs, and closure of manufacturing readiness actions.
- Contribute to engineering build plans, build reports, punch-list management, and cross-functional resolution of build-related issues prior to production ramp.
- Ensure lessons learned and technical knowledge gained during builds are captured and fed back into controlled documentation.
- Coordinate effectively across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Service, and external CMOs to ensure execution alignment and timely closure of open items.
- Provide structured updates on documentation status, transfer readiness, risk areas, and action plans to project leadership.
- Help reduce avoidable transfer cost and rework by increasing documentation completeness, technical clarity, and internal ownership ahead of transfer execution.
- Support broader operational initiatives when capacity permits, especially where DMR / documentation transfer or manufacturing knowledge capture overlaps with future programs.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, Industrial, or related technical discipline).
- Demonstrated experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing transfer, production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or sustaining engineering.
- Experience working with manufacturing documentation such as BOMs, drawings, work instructions, test methods, validation inputs, manufacturing records, and controlled revisions.
- Experience working with external manufacturers / CMOs in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical writing and documentation discipline, with the ability to convert incomplete information into clear, usable, controlled manufacturing content.
- Strong cross-functional communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and maintain electrical drawings and electrical schematics in support of product transfer and production readiness.
- Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing, including documentation needed to support PCBA transfer, assembly, inspection, and test activities.
- Experience with OrCAD, Altium Designer, or equivalent electrical CAD / EDA tools.
- Experience working with laboratory equipment used for electronic troubleshooting, verification, functional testing, or engineering build support.
- Experience supporting medical device or similarly regulated electromechanical products.
- Familiarity with DHR / DMR concepts, traceability controls, PFMEA, inspection planning, and process validation support.
- Experience with PCBA manufacturing, board-level transfer, calibration / functional test methods, or manufacturing fixture transfer.
