Legal, Risk, Assurance, and Compliance Counsel

Olympus is recruiting on behalf of BioProtect, its fully owned entity dedicated to advancing prostate cancer care through innovative spacing solutions. We are looking for a Legal, Risk, Assurance, and Compliance Counsel who will provide strategic legal, privacy, and compliance guidance across Israel, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.

Your responsibilities

1. Legal & Commercial Support

• Practical legal advice to business functions; draft and negotiate supply, OEM, distribution and service agreements
• Support indirect sales models and distributor lifecycle management
• Advise on competition law, export control, sanctions and trade compliance
• Manage local litigation with external counsel; support corporate governance
• Advise on data privacy (GDPR, local laws, cross-border transfers) and coordinate with Regulatory Affairs on registrations and licensing

2. Compliance & Privacy Program

• Implement and monitor the Compliance Management System locally
• Run risk assessments, due diligence and privacy impact assessments; maintain data inventory and ROPAs
• Support internal investigations and remediation
• Guide compliant interactions with HCPs and channel partners
• Oversee tender and public procurement compliance; support acquisition integration

3. Third-Party Governance

• Advise on distributor onboarding, contracting, oversight and termination
• Strengthen regional third-party compliance frameworks and align them with commercial goals
• Monitor dealings with intermediaries, government officials and public healthcare entities for anti-bribery compliance

4. Training & Awareness

• Deliver compliance trainings on healthcare and anti-corruption compliance, competition law, privacy, export control and distributor compliance
• Communicate legal and compliance updates to leadership and teams

5. Business Partnering

• Partner with Commercial, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and Operations; engage early on projects to manage risk
• Advise on employment law and support HR on complex cases

Your qualifications

• Degree in Law (LLB/LLM or JD equivalent), Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years' PQE, ideally in life sciences or similarly regulated industries, with experience in multi-national/regional roles
• Demonstrated experience with legal and regulatory environments in the Middle East, Eastern European, Africa, and/or Central Asia preferred
• High-level proficiency in risk & compliance frameworks, laws, and internal governance
• Adept at solving ambiguous, complex challenges across countries
• Rooted in a culture of integrity, deliver customer or client-centric solutions to advance patient outcomes and drive shareholder value
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
