NLP Data Science Team Leader

A tech and eCommerce technology company is looking for an NLP Data Science Team Leader to lead a team of NLP Data Scientists.

The company develops advanced virtual try-on technology for online fashion, combining computer vision, AI, data science, and consumer-facing eCommerce experiences. Its technology enables shoppers to visualize clothing more realistically online, helping retailers improve digital shopping experiences, conversion, and return-rate challenges.

This is an opportunity to lead end-to-end NLP and machine learning initiatives, from research and modeling through production deployment, while working closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead, and professionally develop a team of NLP Data Scientists.
• Lead end-to-end NLP and ML solutions, from research and modeling through production deployment.
• Define the team’s technological and research direction across NLP, LLMs, Deep Learning, and scalable ML systems.
• Translate business and product needs into impactful algorithmic and data-driven solutions.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and business teams to deliver high-quality AI capabilities.
• Remain hands-on in architecture, modeling, complex problem solving, and code reviews.
• Implement best practices, scalable workflows, and high-quality development processes across the team.

Required Qualifications

• M.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized academic institution- must.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing Machine Learning solutions- must.
• Deep expertise in NLP and advanced methods such as Transformers, Embeddings, and LLMs- must.
• At least 2 years of experience managing or leading Data Science / Machine Learning teams- must.
• Hands-on experience developing, training, and deploying NLP and LLM models in large-scale production environments- must.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow- must.
• Experience working with scalable systems, data infrastructure, and data pipelines- must.
