Head of Software Engineering

An established, international DeepTech engineering enterprise that designs, develops, and manufactures high-precision electro-optical sensing platforms and real-time hardware systems.

Serving global institutional and industrial clients, the company combines low-level embedded software, computer vision, AI, and complex mechanics into mission-critical products.

Located in a central high-tech hub in the Sharon region, operating under a full-time, on-site engineering framework.

Position Overview-

• Head of Software Department serving as a key executive leader reporting directly to the VP of R&D, owning the enterprise-wide software strategy, roadmap, and delivery.
• Leading a multidisciplinary software organization of approximately 20 engineers, with direct management of 3 R&D Team Leads.
• Driving high-level technical leadership and architectural vision across Embedded Linux, RTOS, and real-time system topologies.
• Partnering closely with Hardware Design, Systems Engineering, Computer Vision, and Optics groups to coordinate co-design lifecycles.
• Championing modern development methodologies, Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and automated testing infrastructures.
• Interfacing with executive management, global partners, and enterprise customers to define product requirements and drive technological innovation.
• Core Domain & Ecosystem- Software Leadership, Engineering Management, Embedded Linux, RTOS, C++, Real-Time Systems, Hardware-Software Integration, Electro-Optics / Computer Vision Integration, Software Architecture, DevOps & CI/CD, Agile Methodologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing software departments or large groups (20+ engineers) with proven leadership of Team Leads – Mandatory
• Deep technical background in Embedded Linux and/or RTOS operating environments – Mandatory
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary environments integrating Hardware, Optics, Mechanics, or Computer Vision – Mandatory
• Strong hands-on background in Software Architecture with the willingness to step into deep technical reviews when needed – Mandatory
• Proven track record leading Agile delivery, CI/CD adoption, and modern DevOps methodologies within embedded teams – Mandatory
• Readiness for full-time, on-site work at the Sharon facility – Mandatory
• Experience in high-reliability, defense, or aerospace engineering environments – Strong Advantage
• Exceptional strategic vision, cross-functional leadership, and executive communication skills in English and Hebrew – Mandatory
