Staff Engineer / Principal Engineer (Hands-on)

We're looking for an exceptional Staff Engineer / Principal Engineer to join a well-established B2B SaaS company.

This is not a typical Full Stack position.

We're looking for an engineer who can own complex technical domains, shape system architecture, and lead end-to-end development while remaining 100% hands-on.

You'll work closely with the VP R&D, gradually take ownership of architectural responsibilities across the platform, and become one of the company's leading technical voices.

What you'll do:

• Own complex product domains from architecture through production
• Lead end-to-end feature development across Frontend, Backend, Cloud, and DevOps
• Drive architectural decisions and technical direction
• Build scalable distributed systems
• Work closely with the VP R&D on technical strategy and architecture
• Design and develop AI-powered capabilities as part of the core product
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership (without people management)

Who we're looking for:

• Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Software Architect, or highly experienced Technical Lead
• Former CTO or VP R&D who chose to return to hands-on engineering
• Strong system design and software architecture experience
• Proven experience owning complex technical domains end-to-end
• Experience owning architecture and leading technical direction in a product startup environment
• Deep expertise with Node.js, TypeScript, and React
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS
• Experience building AI-powered products, AI Agents, Tools, or advanced LLM-based workflows

This is not a people management role.

We're looking for someone who wants to remain deeply hands-on while having significant influence over architecture, technical direction, and the evolution of the product.
