Automation Team Lead

One of our clients, an innovative technology company developing advanced software solutions for enterprise customers, is looking to hire an Automation Team Lead to join its growing R&D organization.

This is an opportunity for an experienced automation professional who enjoys combining technical leadership with hands-on development while shaping quality practices across the engineering lifecycle.

In this position, you will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining scalable test automation solutions that support fast, reliable software delivery. Alongside leading the team, you will remain actively involved in development, contributing to automation frameworks, improving engineering processes, and helping ensure product quality throughout the development cycle.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a team of 4 automation engineers, supporting their technical development and day-to-day execution.
• Proven experience recruiting and hiring Automation Engineers, including conducting technical interviews and supporting team growth.
• Define and continuously improve the organization's automation approach, ensuring it aligns with product and engineering objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python and pytest.
• Enhance automated testing across multiple testing layers, including component, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows to support reliable and efficient software releases.
• Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, QA, and product teams to establish high quality standards and streamline development processes.
• Participate in technical planning, translate business and product needs into testing solutions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Review code, provide technical guidance, and contribute directly to automation development.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience developing automated testing solutions using Python.
• Strong experience designing automation frameworks and scalable testing infrastructure.
• Previous experience leading technical teams, including mentoring engineers and driving project delivery.
• Solid understanding of modern software testing practices, including unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD environments using Jenkins or comparable platforms.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing manual and exploratory testing as part of a comprehensive quality strategy.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience working with Docker or containerized development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
