Platform Team Lead

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Platform Team Lead to lead one of the company's most critical engineering teams.

This is a highly technical leadership role, combining approximately 50% hands-on development with people management. You will lead a team responsible for the core platform infrastructure that supports the entire R&D organization, ensuring developers can build, deploy, and operate production systems efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend/platform engineers.
• Own the roadmap and technical direction of the platform.
• Design and build scalable backend infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Contribute hands-on through architecture, coding, code reviews, and production debugging.
• Improve developer productivity by enhancing internal frameworks, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure running in production.
• Drive engineering excellence, system reliability, observability, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership, architects, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on Python development.
• Strong background in distributed systems and microservices.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure also relevant).
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Strong architecture and system design capabilities.
• Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on development.

Nice to Have

• Platform Engineering / Infrastructure / DevEx experience.
• Terraform and Helm.
• Large-scale data ingestion or web scraping systems.
• Python monorepos and shared libraries.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude.

Location: Hybrid (2–3 days from home).

Compensation: Highly competitive, depending on experience.
