Senior Cloud Engineer (GCP Focus)

Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, automating, and deploying production-grade services on behalf of our customers to a variety of public clouds such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. Cloud Engineers work alongside our Solutions Architects to ensure our project deliverables meet stakeholders' needs while upholding MyOps's quality and operational maturity standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Standardization: Developing and maintaining cloud architecture (Landing Zones), procedures, and policies for proper cloud utilization in GCP
• Technological Leadership: Guiding Development and DevOps teams in selecting appropriate services and solving complex architectural issues.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Writing and managing high-level, modular infrastructure as code for organization-wide use.
• FinOps: Monitoring and controlling cloud costs, identifying waste, and recommending optimization actions such as Right-sizing and RI/Savings Plans.
• Security & Compliance: Working closely with security teams to implement automated controls and improve the overall Security Posture.

Professional Requirements

• Proven Experience: At least 3–4 years of experience managing large-scale cloud environments (OCI, Azure, or GCP).
• IaC Proficiency: In-depth experience with Terraform (writing modules, state management) or tools like Pulumi, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
• Development & Scripting: Ability to write in Python, Go, or Bash for process automation.
• Containers: Experience with Kubernetes-based environments (EKS, AKS, GKE) and Docker.
• CI/CD: Deep understanding of pipeline processes such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC, Subnets, Routing, VPN, and Transit Gateway.
• Professional Certifications: Cloud Engineer Professional Certificate or Azure Solutions Architect.
• FinOps Experience: Experience in cloud cost management using tools like CloudHealth, Spot.io, or native budget management tools.
• Policy as Code: Experience with OPA/Rego, Sentinel, or Azure Policy, along with a background in Backend software development.

• Communication: Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from developers to management.
• LID (Learn, Implement, Distribute): The ability to quickly learn new technologies and propagate them throughout the organization.
