Platform Team Lead

Wanted: Platform Team Lead for a Data & AI Solutions company in Tel Aviv. This is a very rewarding full-time and Hybrid position.

The chosen candidate will spearhead a highly impactful, horizontal engineering team responsible for the foundational systems and developer experience (DevX) that power the entire R&D department. Operating in a 50/50 hands-on and leadership capacity, this role offers the unique opportunity to shape the architecture of production-critical distributed systems, high-scale data ingestion pipelines, and robust cloud infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CTO, they will play a pivotal role in driving engineering excellence, accelerating developer velocity, and mentoring a talented team of senior backend engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

● Lead and mentor a team of senior backend engineers, driving end-to-end roadmap delivery, scoping, and quality while fostering a culture of technical growth.

● Spend approximately 50% of the time hands-on, designing scalable architecture, writing high-quality Python code, and conducting rigorous code and design reviews.

● Own the company's core platform foundations, including high-scale data ingestion pipelines, Kubernetes and Docker microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and internal shared libraries.

● Partner closely with cross-functional R&D leaders and the CTO to align on infrastructure boundaries, define technical direction, and champion a highly reliable, developer-friendly ecosystem.

Job Requirements:

● 3+ years of proven experience as a Team Leader in a product-oriented R&D organization, combining strong people management with technical leadership.

● 6+ years of deep hands-on Python development experience, ideally having transitioned into leadership from a core backend, Architect, or Principal Engineer role.

● Robust background in designing, deploying, and operating distributed systems in production using Kubernetes, Docker, and major cloud providers (specifically GCP)

. ● Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines in a microservices or monorepo environment, alongside orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow.

● A strong production-oriented mindset (reliability, observability, incident response) with high end-to-end accountability; immediate availability is a highly preferred advantage.
