Electro-Optical Camera Developer

IAI Space Division is looking for an Electro-Optical Camera Developer for multi-wavelength systems, working on the next generation of advanced electro-optical satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define requirements and support the development of electro-optical cameras across multiple wavelengths.
• Perform electro-optical performance analysis, including MTF, SNR, and related metrics.
• Plan, support, and execute camera calibration processes both ground testing prior to launch and in-orbit calibration.
• Support and develop image processing algorithms, from raw detector image acquisition to advanced outputs, including color products and spectral information extraction.

Requirements:

• MSc or higher in Electro-Optics Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field – mandatory
• At least 3 years of experience in electro-optical camera development, image processing algorithms, and remote sensing – mandatory
• Experience with calibration processes, including PSF, NUC, ground measurements, etc. – mandatory
• Experience in radiometry, thermal imaging, detectors, and related fields – mandatory
• Experience in multi-wavelength image processing – advantage
• Experience with tools such as Modtran\ Zemax\ Ocktal\ LabView – advantage
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, fast learning ability, and cross-functional collaboration with teams, suppliers, and customers
• Experience in writing technical documents, test procedures, and structured documentation

The Space Image Processing Team serves as the center of expertise in image processing, electro-optics, and precise geolocation within the Space Division.

The team develops the next generation of Israeli satellites, focusing on electro-optical observation systems. It leads the end-to-end image processing lifecycle—from camera definition and algorithm development, through implementation, testing, and calibration—both on the ground and in orbit.

The team is responsible for ground station algorithms and supports the development of operational software, engaging in a wide range of activities such as image processing, spectral corrections, radiometric calibration, machine learning (AI) applications for advanced product generation, image fusion, super-resolution, and more.
