Bioinformatician – Multi-Omics Data Analyst

The MultiOmics Unit within the Diagnostics and Clinical Laboratories Division at Sheba Medical Center is looking for an experienced, hands-on Bioinformatician to join our team in a full-time position.

This role combines independent analytical work with high-impact clinical and academic collaborations, focusing on advanced sequencing data analysis and the development of reproducible bioinformatics pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

* Analysis of bulk RNA-seq data, including preprocessing, alignment, quantification, differential expression, and pathway analysis

* Single-cell and single-nucleus analysis, including QC, integration, clustering, cell-type annotation, trajectory inference, and cell–cell communication

* Processing and analysis of Oxford Nanopore long-read data

* Methylation and epigenomics analysis, including DMR detection and integration with expression data

* Integration of transcriptomic, epigenomic, and genomic datasets

* Development and maintenance of automated pipelines using Snakemake or Nextflow on HPC infrastructure

* Data visualization, biostatistical analysis, and contribution to scientific papers, posters, and grant applications

Required Qualifications

* M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field

* Proven experience in at least two of the following areas: RNA-seq, single-cell analysis, long-read sequencing, or methylation analysis

* Strong proficiency in Python and/or R

* Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, HPC clusters, and job schedulers such as SLURM

* Familiarity with standard bioinformatics tools, including STAR, minimap2, samtools, and bedtools

* Experience using Git

Strong Advantages

* Experience with Oxford Nanopore sequencing and methylation calling from long reads

* Familiarity with Snakemake, Nextflow, Docker, or Singularity

* Background in machine learning or deep learning in genomics

* Experience working with clinical data and public databases such as TCGA, GTEx, or UK Biobank

* Experience with cloud computing, GPU-based workflows, or 10x data analysis
