Electronics Practical Engineer

At ThirdEye Systems, we develop advanced electro-optical systems and solutions based on Computer Vision and AI for the defense market. Our technologies assist defense forces worldwide in tackling complex operational challenges and protecting lives.

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Practical Engineer to join our hardware team and take part in developing innovative products – from the design and integration phases all the way to production. This is a hands-on role in a challenging technological environment, involving work with complex systems, end-to-end troubleshooting, and collaboration with our development and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Board Design: Full planning and design of electronic boards, including schematic capture and guiding layout designers.

• Component Selection: Defining component requirements, analyzing datasheets, and creating Bills of Materials (BOM).

• Integration Leadership: Performing laboratory testing (Bring-up) for new boards, component-level troubleshooting, and system calibration.

• Production Collaboration: Accompanying subcontractors and board manufacturers locally and globally (preparing production files, addressing technical queries, DFM/DFT).

• Engineering Documentation: Writing characterization documents, test reports (ATP/ATR), and standard operating procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Practical Engineer (Handesa'it/Handesai) degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

• Practical Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Board Design for both analog and high-speed digital boards.

• Development Tools: Full proficiency in schematic design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro / OrCAD).

• Lab Work: Proven experience working with complex test equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, specialized test equipment, signal generators, and spectrum/network analyzers.

• Soldering Skills: High proficiency in SMD soldering (down to minute/dense component levels) for lab modifications and troubleshooting.

• Languages: High-level proficiency in both Hebrew and English (for reading datasheets and authoring technical documents).

• Personal Attributes: Ability to work independently alongside fruitful teamwork; strong analytical thinking, precision, high attention to detail, strong failure analysis capabilities, and a true "Hands-on" passion for lab work and problem-solving.

Significant Advantages:

• Previous experience in developing or maintaining electronic systems within the defense industry or via significant military technological service (IAF / technological units).

• Familiarity with strict military standards (such as MIL-STD-810 for environmental conditions, MIL-STD-461 for EMC/EMI).

• Experience in designing boards for airborne systems, ruggedized military applications, or RF/Radar and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.

• Valid security clearance – a major advantage.
