Head of Software Department!

A leading defense technology company is looking for an experienced Head of Software Department to lead a high performing software organization developing complex real-time systems.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to drive software strategy, lead multidisciplinary development teams, and shape next generation technologies!

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the software technology roadmap.

• Lead multiple software development and QA teams (approximately 20 engineers).

• Drive software architecture for complex Embedded Linux and RTOS-based systems.

• Collaborate closely with Hardware, System Engineering, AI, and Computer Vision teams.

• Lead Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software quality initiatives.

• Represent the software organization in executive management and customer engagements.

Requirements

✔ 5+ years of experience managing software departments or multiple development teams.

✔ Strong background in C++ and Embedded Linux / RTOS development.

✔ Experience working in multidisciplinary environments (Software, Hardware, Algorithms).

✔ Proven experience leading DevOps, CI/CD, and software process improvements.

✔ B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
