Head of Media — Performance Marketing
Role summary
We are looking for a results‑driven Head of Media to lead our in‑house performance marketing efforts and drive business growth through strategic media buying. In this senior role you will manage the media‑buying team, define digital strategy, own media budgets and maximize ROI across multiple platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the media buying team to plan, execute and optimize campaigns across digital channels (Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, and other PPC platforms).
- Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to achieve business growth targets.
- Monitor, analyze and report campaign performance; identify optimization opportunities and test new approaches to improve ROI.
- Oversee media planning and budget allocation to maximize efficiency and scale successful campaigns.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, analytics, creative and commercial teams to align media strategy with broader business objectives.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
- Build reporting frameworks and KPIs to demonstrate impact on revenue and CAC.
Daily activities (examples)
- Lead daily/weekly optimization reviews and standups with the media team.
- Set up and review A/B tests and experiments across creatives, audiences and bidding strategies.
- Manage pacing and budget distribution across channels and markets.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement rapid corrective actions.
- Communicate performance updates and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3+ years proven experience in performance marketing with a strong focus on PPC and digital media buying. Search arbitrage experience is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience leading a media buying team; strong leadership and people‑management skills.
- Track record managing and optimizing high‑budget campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets and attribution models.
- Hands‑on, data‑driven, and comfortable making quick, pragmatic decisions in a fast‑moving environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred background / candidate sources
Candidates with experience from ad‑tech, programmatic platforms, search arbitrage, content arbitrage and comparison sites are highly relevant. Example company types: ad networks, DSP/SSP platforms, programmatic media buyers, search arbitrage operators, e‑commerce performance teams and comparison/lead generation platforms.
