Head of AI — Performance Marketing (On-site / Hybrid)
Experienced performance‑marketing company active across programmatic, search arbitrage, mobile user acquisition and e‑commerce. We move fast, test constantly and prioritise performance. Candidates with backgrounds on either the supply or demand side are relevant.
Role overview We’re hiring a hands‑on Head of AI / VP R&D to define and lead our AI strategy, build practical AI tools, and embed ML/automation across the business to drive measurable performance and operational scale. You will work directly with media‑buying, product and ops teams to deliver impact.
What you’ll own (Key responsibilities)
- Define and execute the company‑wide AI & R&D vision and roadmap.
- Build production AI/ML systems and internal tools that improve media buying, yield and ROI.
- Automate reporting, workflows and operational decision‑making across business units.
- Partner with programmatic, search, mobile and e‑commerce teams to deliver AI solutions that increase revenue and efficiency.
- Rapidly prototype, test and deploy new models, LLM agents and automation using modern AI stacks.
- Establish best practices for MLOps, data quality, model monitoring and A/B testing.
- Mentor and grow a small R&D/ML engineering team; embed AI capabilities across the organisation.
Must‑have (Requirements / Focus)
- Proven, hands‑on experience building and shipping AI/ML systems (not only strategy).
- Practical experience with modern generative/assistant tools and code‑assisted AI (e.g., Claude, GPT/code tools) and their integration into developer workflows.
- Strong background in performance marketing and direct familiarity with media buying platforms.
- Experience with programmatic ecosystem (DSPs, SSPs), Google Ad Manager and paid social platforms.
- Data‑driven, engineering mindset — able to design, implement and iterate quickly.
- Experience leading R&D/AI teams or initiatives and delivering production impact.
- Comfortable with “lean” execution: rapid prototyping, pragmatic trade‑offs and quick iteration.
Nice‑to‑have
- Prior experience in ad‑tech, monetization (pop/new‑tab/redirect/push/display) or with supply/demand platforms.
- Experience building agentic AI or LLM‑powered automation for decisioning.
- Familiarity with MLOps tooling, model hosting and monitoring frameworks.
