Senior Backend Lead/Engineer for Video Surveillance

The way we interact with live feed video is broken. Most videos in the world are never understood. Every day, billions of cameras capture trillions of hours of footage, yet organizations still rely on humans to find what matters.

We are building an AI Operating System for Video - a platform that can watch, understand, investigate, and act on video at scale, using Vision Agents. You will:

• Own the Architecture, design and implementation of the backend pipeline that processes large amounts of near real-time video streams at high scale.
• Implement features, new abilities, and serve as the technical authority for backend architecture, platform design, and system scalability.
• Work directly with customers, Product and company management to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet real-world constraints.
• You will help shaping the product and roadmap to take it to the next level

• Design and develop new product capabilities from idea/requirement to production.
• Design and build scalable backend systems for real-time video analytics.
• Build and maintain near real time video processing pixel pipelines.
• Productionize AI models and integrate them into customer-facing workflows.
• Design infrastructure supporting computer vision, LLM, and VLM workloads.
• Work closely with Research and Algo team to optimize the pipeline and models on GPU, CPU and RAM usage
• Manage and optimize cloud and on-prem deployments, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and modular Python code
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers as the team grows.
• Collaborate closely with research, DevOps, and product teams to bring new capabilities to market.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements, define solutions, and drive successful deployments.

●    9+ years of software engineering & backend development experience.

●    Deep expertise in Python.

●    Strong experience designing distributed systems.

●    Experience with video pipelines: RTSP, FFmpeg, live video processing.

●    Background in real-time, high-throughput systems.

●    Strong understanding of databases, event-driven architectures, and APIs.

●    Experience with cloud services (GCP & AWS).

●    Ability to design scalable, reliable systems for both cloud and on-prem deployments.

●    Mentorship for team members and new hires including code reviews

●    Strong Experience in C++

●    Experience with computer vision platforms.

●    Experience with AI/ML infrastructure.

●    Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

●    Experience with streaming technologies such as ZMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar systems.

●    Experience in physical security, surveillance, industrial operations, or IoT environments.

●    Previous startup experience.

●    Hands-on engineer who can lead architecture and code at the same time.

●    Comfortable working with customers.

●    Takes ownership of problems end-to-end.

●    Mentor and team player who quietly raises standards for engineering quality.
